What this is

Arcanes Odyssey indexes hotels in four categories and nothing else: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. Sixteen properties in total, four in each. The list is short because a short list can be kept accurate, and because a category only means something when the entries in it are genuinely comparable.

How entries are chosen

We look for hotels where the category is doing real work — where the collection, the compression, the setting or the season actually changes what staying there is like. A hotel with three paintings in the lobby is not an art hotel. A resort that happens to sit near a casino is not a casino hotel. Selection is ours alone. No property pays to appear, and none sees its entry before it is published.

How entries are written

Everything is written in prose, deliberately. Specification grids flatten the differences between buildings, and those differences are the only reason to keep an index like this. We stay with facts that are stable and verifiable from public information — where a building sits, what it was before, how the property is organised — and avoid anything that would need a price list or a review score to be meaningful.

What this is not

It is not a booking service, an agency, or a rating system. No star ratings, no guest reviews, no availability, no prices. When something here interests you, go to the hotel itself: it is the faster and more reliable source, and details change without notice.
